Site work and paving for a road / highway in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The city, school, and Mahaska County YMCA partnered to design, construct, and operate a new 88,400 square foot Early Childhood Education and Recreation Center. The project’s design began in 2019 and was completed in early 2020. Construction began spring 2020. The total project is estimated to cost $31.8 million and is funded by the city’s Local Option Sales Tax, the Oskaloosa School District’s statewide penny sales tax, grants, and local donors. The facility will be owned by the city, and operated by the Mahaska County YMCA on behalf of the city and school district. This facility will become the new YMCA that serves the greater Oskaloosa area. This project is included in the City's FY 2024-2029 capital Improvement program (CIP). As of October 17, 2024, further details regarding construction and completion timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
