Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Jackson, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

Installation of a new air conditioning unit at a City building. Prospective Bidders are advised as follows: 1. Bidders are advised that the price for each 36k BTU hi-wall unit shall also include a separate condenser unit of matching BTU. Scope involves 2 each, hi-wall units and 2 each condenser units. 2. Bidders are advised that the new condenser units shall be mounted on the roof of the building. 3. Bidders are advised that no HERS testing is required as there is no ducting work. 4. Bidders are directed to install a continuous running bathroom fan (3 CFM) inside the building to provide a fresh air intake. Price of fan and installation shall be included in your bid. 5. Bidders are advised that the existing electrical service panel is 100 amps. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990 and payment to the Contractor shall be in accordance with Section 9-1.16, "Progress Payments" of the State Standard Specifications and the project specifications. The successful bidder shall furnish a fully executed payment, performance, and warranty bond. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in Amador County have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. No Contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code Section 1771.1(a)]. No Contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price payable to the Owner as a guarantee that the bidder, if bidder's proposal is accepted, will promptly execute the contract, secure payment of workers' compensation insurance and furnish a satisfactory faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price and a labor and material bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price. The Contractor shall guarantee the entire work constructed by Contractor under the Contract to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year following the date of acceptance of the work by the Owner. The Contractor shall make, at Contractor's own expense, any repairs or replacements made necessary by defects in materials and workmanship which become evident within said guarantee period. The Contractor shall indemnify and save harmless the Owner and the Engineer and officers, agents and employees of the Owner and the Engineer against and from all claims and liability arising from damage and injury due to said defects. The Contractor shall make all repairs and replacements promptly upon receipt of written order from the Engineer. Should Contractor fail to make the repairs and replacements promptly, the Owner shall cause the work to be done, and the Contractor and Contractor's surety shall be liable to the Owner for the cost of all such work. Maintenance guarantee shall be a surety bond or other approved security which shall be delivered to the Owner prior to the date on which final payment is made. Said security shall be in an approved form and executed by a surety company or companies satisfactory to the Owner in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the contract price or Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000), whichever is greater. Security shall remain in force for the duration of the guarantee period specified herein. In lieu of providing security as prescribed above, the Contractor may provide for the Faithful Performance Bond furnished under the Contract to remain in force until the expiration of said guarantee periods. Specific guarantees for periods longer than one (1) year may be specified in the Special Conditions for specific equipment and materials. The Contractor shall begin work within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The Contractor shall pay owner liquated damages at a rate of $1,000.00 for each and every calendar day after expiration of the working days plus any time extension approved by the Engineer. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids for a period of forty-five (45) days after the date of opening, and to waive any informality or irregularity in any bid. No bid can be withdrawn during such forty-five (45) day period. Said work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of five (5) working days. Inquiries or questions regarding the specifications must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening directed to the City Engineer's Office in writing via email to m.garcia@wgainc.net. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990 and payment to the Contractor shall be in accordance with Section 9-1.16, "Progress Payments" of the State Standard Specifications and the project specifications. The successful bidder shall furnish a fully executed payment, performance, and warranty bond.
