As of October 4, 2024 project is cancelled. San Miguel County ("City") is requesting proposals from qualified professional mechanical systems engineering, plumbing and installation firms to provide designbuild services associated with the replacement of the heating, ventilation system ("HVAC") for the Miramonte Building located at 333 W. Colorado Ave. in Telluride, Colorado. The building is a three-story building located in Telluride. The County has had multiple callouts for HVAC repairs, and has experienced boiler failure during cold weather which has been disruptive currently and over the past years. Most recently, one of the two redundant boilers has completely failed with a rupture in the heat exchanger precipitating additional urgency for improving the overall system as expediently as is possible. The facility had been identified as needing replacement to advance the greenhouse gas emissions goals of the county, however initial space analysis included in this RFP have suggested a short-term solution then a long term redesign. This request for proposals is intended to meet the short term and redundancy needs of the facility moving forward with added additional aspects for better controls depending on the costs to complete the critical scope of work. At the time of the execution of this Contract, the Contractor shall furnish a Contract Payment Bond and a Contract Performance Bond. Each bond shall be in the penal sum equal to the nearest integral one hundred dollars in excess of the Contract value or amount, plus all force account items, if any, specified in the project special conditions to be included in the payment and performance bonds. The bonds and the security shall be acceptable to the County Inquiries on the contents and requirements of the RFP will be accepted in written electronic form only.
