Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bondurant, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.
Drainage improvements within the residential area of 13th Street include but are not limited to, the installation of 236 LF of perforated 18-Inch HDPE, 1 pipe apron and footing, and 2 Nyloplast intakes, placement of sod and riprap, and erosion management. Drainage improvements within the residential area of 15th Street include but are not limited to the installation of approximately 291 LF of infiltration trench and associated 6-Inch Underdrain, 4 subdrain cleanouts, removal and replacement of damaged sidewalk, installation of 144 LF of trenched 6-Inch HDPE, temporary fence, removal and reinstallation of fence, and minor grade adjustments (hand dig). Engineers Estimate: $94,614.50 Location: Bondurant, IA. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the Jurisdiction, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in the amount of 10% of the total amount of the bid and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in lowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in lowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the Jurisdiction. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City of Bondurant and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City of Bondurant from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two years from and after acceptance of the contract. The guaranteed maintenance period for new paving shall be four years. Work on the improvement shall be commenced within 14 days of receiving Notice to Proceed, and be completed as stated below. Contractor shall substantially complete the project no later than December 31, 2024. Spring seeding and sod placement are the only items to be complete in the Spring of 2025 and shall be complete between March 1 and April 1, 2025. Should the contractor fail to complete the work in this time frame, liquidated damages of $200 per calendar day will be assessed for work not completed with in the designated contract term. Question Deadline 09/05/2024 A preletting conference will not be held, questions regarding the project should be directed to the design engineer (Kate Barnes, PE with McClure Engineering at kbarnes@mcclurevision.com or (319)329- 3480. Questions will be answered and addenda issued, if necessary, up until 7 calendar days before the letting date. Within 7 calendar days of letting detailed questions will not be answered out of fairness to other bidders, should a corresponding addendum be warranted. The City of Bondurant reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after receipt of bids and no bid may be withdrawn during this period.
