Site work, new construction and renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Kelowna, British Columbia. Working plans call for the construction of a 231,715-square-foot, four-story above grade, 234-bed, 222-space elderly care / assisted living facility; and for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.

Multi-phase expansion and renovation of the Cottonwoods long-term care (LTC) facility in Kelowna, B.C. The initial phase of the project involves constructing a new four-storey, 234-bed LTC facility on the existing site, including all LTC support services and an operations centre for managing facilities across seven Interior Health locations. Phase 2 will involve demolishing the 1975 portion of the site and constructing a new one-storey mass timber amenity space, linking the new building with the remaining 1985 structure. Other programs and features on the redeveloped campus will include: Adult Day service with capacity of 25 clients a day, 5 days a week. Childcare program for 25 children ages 3-5 and 12 infants/toddlers. Central Okanagan Plant Services; and Parking for vehicles, including electric vehicles, Handibus, and bicycles. TIMELINE: Design is ongoing. Construction management contract for the multi-phase expansion and renovation of the Cottonwoods long-term care (LTC) facility has been awarded. Phase 1 is construction of a new four-Storey building, expected to begin in early 2026 and complete in summer 2027. Once Phase 1 is complete, and the LTC program has moved into the new building, Phase 2 will begin. This includes demolition of one of the existing buildings and construction of the adult day service and childcare space, expected to be complete in spring 2029. Further update in late spring, 2026.
