Site work for a water / sewer project in Kelowna, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project includes but is not limited to the following: Installation of approximately 1,800 m of 750 mm water transmission main in varied environments including rocky hillside, park space and local collector roads adjacent residences and commercial properties. No services or branches are planned. Tie-ins with existing large diameter water infrastructure as well as alterations to existing valve chambers. Installation of up to 3 large diameter water transmission pipes trenched (post rock blasting) and anchored in bedrock on a steep slope on Knox Mountain. The pipe will be backfilled and not left above-ground. Trench dewatering. Traffic management and local business/residence coordination to maintain pedestrian traffic, local access and safe park user space. Coordination with adjacent capital project teams with overlapping scopes and construction timelines. Coordination with shallow utility owners in the project extents. Landscape and road surface restoration. The City is currently seeking a qualified contractor to provide constructability inputs and design engagement services for the Royal View Water Transmission Project. The primary goal of this project is to install a new 750 mm water transmission main, extending from the Knox Mountain reservoir site to the existing water infrastructure at the Weddell and Ethel intersection.
