The Holiday Shores Fire Protection District is seeking bids for the construction of an addition to the existing firehouse. The purpose of this addition is to accommodate the future expansion of staffing to provide living quarters and space for recreational activities. II. Project Specifications o Project Title: Addition to Holiday Shores Firehouse o Location: 93 Holiday Dam Road o Scope of Work: Construction of a single-story addition to the rear/South side of the existing structure measuring"40' long, 18' deep, and 11' to the bottom of the existing truss. The addition will be used for staffing expansion. This phase, identified as 'Phase 1', is strictly to build out a 'shell', unfinished on the inside and roughed in for plumbing and electrical, and environmental controls. III. Construction Requirements and Scope of Work o Construct new addition to south side of existing. Building to be 18' wide x 40' long x 11' bottom of truss with monoslope trusses from existing building sloping towards the south - pole barn construction type. Posts and trusses to be at 8' o.c with trusses at 3:12 pitch. 8" overhang on south slope only. W moisture board installed on top of roof purlins prior to metal installation. Metal colors and gauges to match existing - color variations may occur in new materia to existing due to sun fading of existing. Deep commercial guttering to be supplied and installed with downspouts draining to grade. o New trusses to extend above existing roof line and wall metal will be flashed to existing roof. o 1 exterior man door and 2 exterior windows o Footings to be 24" x 30" concrete with 2 - #4 rebar continuous, foundation to be 8" x approx 18" tall concrete - 2 rows of #4 rebar horizontal and #4 at 32" 0.c. vertical. o Concrete slab to be 4" thick with gravel base, with WWF 6x6 reinforcing on chairs, finish to be smooth machine troweled. o Coordinate opening from existing building to new addition. Install Hollow metal door and frame with passage hardware and closer. Paint color to be determined by Owner. o All interior to be left unfinished as directed. o Proposal does not include any mechanical, plumbing or electrical. Sleeves for future MEP will be added. o All work to be performed by union workers or prevailing wage guidelines. IV. Bid Submission Requirements Proof of Insurance: General Liability $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate. Builder's Risk Insurance: $100,000 Workers' Compensation Insurance: As required by Illinois state law. 1. Performance Bonds: Bidders must provide performance and payment bonds in accordance with Illinois state law (70 ILCS 705) to guarantee the completion of the project @ 50% of the estimated bid 2. Qualifications: Bidders must submit a list of qualifications, including: o Company name and address o Contact person and phone number o Years in business o Experience with similar projects 3.
