The Regents of the University of California on Behalf of the University Of California, Davis ("UCD"), The University Of California, Davis (UCD) Is Seeking Proposals From Technology Providers To Supply A New Hydrolysis Tank, De-packager, And Fuel To The Electricity/fuel Management System to Upgrade Their Renewable Energy Anaerobic Digester (READ) Facility. UCD Expects To Fully Integrate These Items With All The Internal And External Components, Control Systems, Monitoring, And Any External Equipment Necessary To Operate the Complete Thermophilic Digester and the Landfill Gas from The Adjacent Landfill. UC Davis Will Take a Three-pronged Approach to Increase Local Food Waste Diversion By: 1. Replacing The Current Depackager with An Efficient Depackaging System, Increasing the Acceptance Of Highly Contaminated Post-consumer Food Waste, Nearly Tripling Today's Throughput Capacity. 2. Replacing The Existing Corroded Hydrolysis Tank Will Eliminate The Downtime For Tank Issues And Allow Increased, Higher Quality Digestate Processing For Use As Fertilizer. 3. Adding A Generator Will Transform the Currently Flared Biogas into Valuable Green Electricity. The 33 MMSCF/YR Of Biogas Will Displace About 200,000 Therms Per Year Of Petroleum Natural Gas. UCD Expects Proposals to Include One Or More of the Components and To Have a Completion Date No Later Than Feb 2026.
