The work consists of: Expanding the existing wastewater treatment plant by providing a mechanically/manually cleaned bar screen, construction of an influent lift station, emergency storage basin and 8-inch diameter force main, a flow diversion structure, a 250,000 gpd oxidation ditch, 2-32' diameter secondary clarifiers, a tertiary filter, a U.V. disinfection structure, a 42' diameter waste sludge holding basin, a sludge transfer station, a chemical feed system, flow monitoring, emergency generator and plant piping revisions. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids for a sound, documented reason. Each bidder shall file with his bid a bidder's bond for 5 percent of the total amount of the base bid made payable to the City of Clever, hereinafter referred to as the Owner. The bidder to whom a contract is awarded will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond on the forms provided to the City Clever in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price in conformity with the requirements of the General Conditions. Bidders of this Work will be required to comply with fair share objectives and take the six affirmative steps in accordance with 40 CFR 31.36 (e)(2), which requires the contractor and subcontractors to take steps to meet aggregate workforce goals for minority participation and for female participation.
