Isberner, P.E., Senior Engineer 210 Military Trail Jupiter, Florida 33458 Phone No.: (561) 741-2281 Fax No.: (561) 741-2515 Email: scotti@jupiter.fl.us In order for any such request to be given consideration, the written request must be received by the Director of Engineering and Public Works at least eight (8) calendar days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids Scope of Work Perform repairs to include, but not limited to, surface preparation and cleaning, perform welding repairs on structural steel components, and painting applications. Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned, and Small Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. Clock Tower Painting and Repairs located at 475 West Indiantown Road in Jupiter, Florida 33458. 1. Remove clock faces and internal components of the clock (by others). 2. Remove electrical cords and decorative lights (by others). 3. The Contractor shall obtain a Town of Jupiter Engineering/Utilities Permit prior to the commencement of work. 4. Submit and receive approval for Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan and laydown areas prior to commencing work. The MOT plans shall be prepared by an Advanced MOT certified company. 5. Remove and replace paver bricks adjacent to clock tower vertical members to the extent to clean and repair the base of the clock Tower vertical members. 6. Surface preparation for welding: SSPC- SP3 Power Tool Method all rusted metal to remove loose flaking material. SSPC-SP2 Hand Tool Method may be utilized in those areas where power tools cannot fit. 7. Perform welding repairs on steel structural members using steel of equivalent thickness. 8. Clean Clock Tower: SSPC- SP1: power wash with TSP solution and fresh water rinse all surfaces to be prepared. 9. Surface preparation for painting: SSPC- SP3 Power Tool Method all rusted metal to remove loose flaking material. SSPC-SP2 Hand Tool Method may be utilized in those areas where power tools cannot fit. The prime coat must be applied within five (5) hours. Wipe daily- all surfaces to be painted with a solvent and apply coating within five (5) hours of being cleaned. 10. Apply primer by brush to exposed steel. 11. Apply intermediate and Top Coat paint. 12. All work shall be completed in accordance with the attached Plans and Technical Specifications. 13. The Contractor shall use the Staging Areas indicated on the attached Site Map during the work day. 14. The Contractor shall warrant that the material shall meet the following requirements: Repair work - one (1) year, coatings - Ten (10) years.
