The goal of the project is to improve water quality and reduce the frequency of harmful algal blooms (HABs) in Hyde Park Lake, along Gill Creek. Green infrastructure practices that will be implemented through this project include: daylighting a stormwater pipe and creating a meandering surface channel with micro pools and native plants; rerouting stormwater from a pipe through constructed wetlands before it reaches Gill Creek; and, creating a pit and mound complex A performance bond and payment bond will be required of the selected contractor. Bidders will be required to provide proof of qualifications to perform the Work, utilizing forms provided in the bid book. Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper reserves the right to reject any, or all, Bids and is not required to select or award to the lowest bidder. $450,000 is the maximum available funds for the Base Bid. No contract will be awarded if the Owner only receives a bid where the sum of the Base Bid is greater than $450,000.
