The Town of East Hampton, Connecticut is soliciting sealed bids for completing athletic court improvements to Sears Park located at 68 North Main Street. This project generally consists of the reconstruction of an existing tennis and basketball court with the addition of a pickleball court. Reconstruction will involve the removal of the existing bituminous court surfaces along with nets and hoops. The tennis court fence will remain as part of the base bid with the remaining fencing to be removed. The existing basketball court will be realigned to allow the proposed pickleball court to fit within the existing project area and will require minor grading and a stone wall removal to complete final grading. Drainage improvements will also be included as part of the base bid along with the application of an athletic court surface treatment and the installation of new hoops and nets. As part of an add alternate for the project the bidder shall include pricing for the replacement of the tennis court fencing as shown on plans. The Town intends to award the projects to a contractor who can provide the unique technical sports court surfacing experience required to complete this project. Contractors shall provide a minimum of five (5) project references to verify they're qualified to perform the work. A satisfactory Bid Bond or Certified Check, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid, shall be submitted with each bid. The Bid Bond shall be made payable to Town of East Hampton and shall be properly executed by the Bidder and acceptable sureties. All bonds must be from sureties registered in the State of Connecticut. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of Bid opening. The Town of East Hampton reserves the right to accept or reject any or all options, bids or proposals; to waive any technicality in any bid or part thereof, and to accept any bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of East Hampton.
