Site work for a water / sewer project in Missoula, Montana. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Wastewater Division became aware that the large sewer main crossing the Clark Fork River at the Resource Recovery Facility is at risk of being damaged during flooding events. We have applied for a grant from FEMA to pay for the design but the award is unknown. The solution is not known at for certain, but will likely require installing a new large lift station and boring a large (30") diameter force main under the Clark Fork River. At this point, it is assumed that the full project will need to be funded with a State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan This project is included in the City's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of November 11, 2024, further information regarding construction and completion timelines have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
