Site work and paving for a civil project in University Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; water / sewer project; and bridge / tunnel.
The storm system that channels a waterway, an unnamed tributary to Deer Creek, under Sandra Drive is failing. This area is experiencing erosion and road base deterioration due to runoff overtopping the curb and leaks in the existing corrugated metal pipe system. A full storm system replacement is required which will occur from the existing inlet on the north side of Sandra Drive to the outfall on the south side of Sandra Drive and east of Craig Park. The project area consists of approximately 420 linear feet of storm system replacement, 410 linear feet of road reconstruction, and 125 linear feet of additional road resurfacing. Work is expected to begin in the early Spring 2025 construction season. Work must begin by May 12, 2025 and be completed within three (3) months of the beginning of construction. This schedule of completion with liquidated damages shall be written into the final contract.
