The scope of work consists of upgrading the highway lighting system to meet current AASHTO, State, and Federal standards. Associated highway lighting work includes the replacement of existing pole mounted streetlights with new LED based streetlights including providing a new pole, pole base, and foundation, existing underpass lights with new LED based lights, electrical panels and cabinets, lighting controls, conduits and wiring, and State-owned pad-mounted transformer with HECO owned and maintained pad-mounted transformers. The associated structural and civil work includes modification of the median, retaining wall, and bridge structures to accommodate the new streetlights, erosion control, traffic control, and replacement and maintenance of the existing landscape affected by all the work. The estimated cost of construction is between $29,000,000 and $32,000,000.
