TTD is seeking the services of a qualified firm to conduct project engineering and environmental services for the design and permitting of State Route 28 (SR 28) corridor improvements, specifically the Central Corridor Sand Harbor to Thunderbird Cove Trail, Transit, and Safety Improvements (Project) along the east shore of Lake Tahoe in the local jurisdiction of Washoe County, Nevada. A summary of improvements includes: relocation of on-highway parking, 1.75-miles of paved Class 1 trail, trailhead and trail signage, vertical separation of trail at Sand Harbor State Park entrances (tunneling and/or overhead structures), trail vista points, bathrooms and garbage facilities, trail access points along the corridor, potential utility undergrounding, roadway safety additions along SR 28, and value engineering analysis to determine the most cost efficient design. Critical design tasks as detailed later in this RFP document include assessing alternative project delivery methods including design-build and CMAR. The value engineering analysis will be critical to determine the most cost effective design, along with evaluating construction staging areas and critical utility conflicts to optimize project delivery and cost effectiveness Notice of Intent to Award January 2, 2025 Phase 3 Work (final design) December 31, 2025 TTD reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals received in response to this RFP, or to cancel this RFP if it is deemed in the best interest of TTD to do so.
