Site A consists of remnants from White Island and Rock Island, including dune vegetation, the nearshore submerged, sandy bottom, and part of the Bayou Grande channel. The proposed project components for Site A include dredging, restoration of White Island, sand placement for saltmarsh cells, submerged reefs, rock breakwaters, plants and placement of navigational aids. The dredging at Site A will provide the sand material for the constructed features and will improve site acces.
