Demolition, site work, new construction and addition to a mixed-use development in Bedford, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the construction of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; and water / sewer project.

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) for the County of Bedford is to solicit proposals to furnish/provide the services of one fully qualified architecture and engineering firm ("Architect") to provide architecture and engineering design and support services that consists of, but is not limited to, design of 1) an approximately 15,000 square foot addition to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office located at 1345 Falling Creek Road, Bedford, VA 24523; 2) a new approximately 30,000 square foot building to house the Social Services Department located on open parcel on Falling Creek Road directly south of Sheriff's Office and County Garage; and 3) associated sitework for each building including sanitary sewer pump station and sewer main to serve Bedford County parcel #14705200 with capacity for future expansion. As deliverables, the Owner is seeking 100% design documents for a 15,000 square foot addition to the existing Bedford County Sheriff's Office/911 building, 100% design documents for a new 30,000 square foot social services building, answer and provision of construction administration including bid assistance and questions for both of the projects mentioned previously. Schedule priority shall be given to design of the social services building package. Award shall be made to the responsible Offeror who has ranked the highest and successful negotiation of a price that is considered fair and reasonable. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals in whole or in part and to waive informalities in an Offeror's proposal.
