Renovation of an educational facility in Santa Cruz, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 33,000-square-foot educational facility.

The project includes interior and exterior renovation of Buildings A and B at Westside Research Park (WRP). The renovation impacts approximately 33,000 square feet of interior existing occupied building office spaces in a two-phased approach. Special care and attention shall be adhered to assure building occupants can safely occupy and access areas of WRP during construction activities. The interior and exterior renovations to Buildings A and B is proposed to meet the contemporary academic research requirements and includes renovation to the following: the lobby, the south half of the office spaces to the west of the lobby, and the servery. Significant updates and replacement of major infrastructure includes roofing, exterior perimeter soffits, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire sprinkler, telecommunications, visual and access control security systems, fire alarm and audio-visual systems. B Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage ($15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
