The City of Waterbury, Department of Education (hereinafter "City"), is seeking to replace the gymnasium floor at Tinker Elementary School. The City seeks a contractor to replace the gymnasium floor at Tinker Elementary School. Each Proposal submitted shall be accompanied by a Proposal Security (a Certified Check or Bid Bond) in the amount of ten (10) percent of the Total Proposal Price. The Proposer to whom a contract is offered, must furnish to the City, if that contract has a total cost greater than $50,000.00, a 100 percent Performance Bond with a surety, and in a form, acceptable to the City. In the City's sole discretion, it may also require a 100 percent Payment Bond and/or other additional security with a surety, and in a form, acceptable to the City The agreement period for any contract or purchase order resulting from this RFP is anticipated to be 60 days from Notice to Proceed. The City reserves the right to award in part, to reject any and all proposals in whole or in part for misrepresentation or if the proposer is in default of any prior City contract, or if the proposal limits or modifies any of the terms and conditions and/or specifications of the RFP. The City also reserves the right to waive technical defects, irregularities and omissions if, in its judgment, the best interest of the City will be served. If, after discussion with Facilities, the existing floor is deemed NOT to be able to repaired and re-used, proceed with installing new Sport court modular maple select surfacing product https://www.sportcourt.com/maple-select If existing wood floor is not able to accept Sport court modular maple select surfacing product, instead proceed with installing 1/2 plywood sheathing using wood glue and 2 1/2 steel screws in order to stabilize subfloor. Level out imperfections to accept Sport court modular maple select surfacing product Confirm that underlayment is needed - Rubber underlayment shall be unrolled and allowed to relax. All butt joints shall be properly trimmed, fitted, and seamed together with an approved all-purpose tape. Reinstall bleachers without damaging new floor
