The City of Buchanan, Michigan is seeking qualified contractors to remove and replace an existing timber retaining wall located along E. Front Street across the street from The American Legion (403 E Front Street, Buchanan, MI 49107). The retaining wall is to be replaced with a 1'-0" wide reinforced concrete retaining wall tying into existing conditions. The scope of work also includes the demolition and replacement of the existing concrete sidewalk adjacent to the retaining wall, protection of existing curb, gutter and HMA roadway, installation of retaining wall railing, maintenance of traffic, erosion control measures, site clearing and restoration, local permitting measures and coordination allowances with the City of Buchanan for the construction of a banner pole base in conjunction with this project. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive irregularities in proposals and to accept the proposal, which in the opinion of the Commission, best serves the interest of the City. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled time of receiving bids.
