Site work for a civil project in Hood River, Oregon. Design plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of August 21, 2025, project has been awarded by city council and engineer identified. They are still negotiating the scope and fee for the project. The City of Hood River (City) is requesting proposals to provide professional engineering services for final design of the Elevated Sewer Line Replacement. The existing above-ground gravity sewer trunkline is located adjacent to the I-84 embankment to the north, and wetlands and railroad to the south. This low-lying wetland area serves as a stormwater collection and detention area for the City, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), and Union Pacific Railroad. The project shall intercept the existing above-ground gravity sewer trunkline and reroute sewers through a combination of gravity sewer, sewer pump stations and sewer force main to mitigate potential physical hazards, sewer capacity, environmental impact, right-of-way, and construction costs. The proposed routes fall within ODOT and City rights-of-way, and therefore all work shall be designed to City, ODOT, Union Pacific Railroad and Hood River Railroad standards, and meet the permitting requirements of all agencies with jurisdictional authority, inclusive of environmental permits. This project will be funded, in part, under the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Community Grants Program.
