Concrete Floor Rebuild in Blast Bay at Paint Shop North Bay RRC Facility. Concrete Floor Rebuild in Blast Bay at North Bay RRC Facility is an ongoing project by the Corporate Facility Project Team. The design of modifications and DSS has been completed and the Scope of this project is to Rebuild the Existing Blast Bay Floor inside the Paint Shop as indicated on the provided drawing. The Paint Shop is located at 916 McIntyre Street East, North Bay, Ontario and is a part of the ONTC RRC facility. The following is a General Description of the work to be completed March 15, 2025. The work to be completed is detailed in the drawings and attached to this RFP. General Requirements and Project Scope: Note: The following list of items is to be used as a guideline only and may not include all the tasks to complete the work. Structural & Architectural: - Rebuild the Blast Bay concrete floor to improve durability and functionality. - Follow the Demolition floor plan as instructed on the Drawing. - Remove existing Slab on grade and existing trenches in the area. - Contractor to identify existing fire ratings of existing floors, walls and roofs where existing openings to be covered or infilled; and if required, provide ULC approved assemblies to cover existing openings to maintain the integrity of the fire rated assembly. - Cut off, cap, reroute, or remove existing services which are affected by the alterations. restore, all fire ratings to existing remained walls/floor/slab after any arch. M/E & process removal/alteration. - All existing wall openings after any arch. M/E & process removal/alteration to be filled with non-shrink grout or materials like existing walls. - All discarded underground basements, chambers, openings, voids or pipes in the designated demolition areas, shall be back filled with granular "B" as sub -base and minimum 600mm thick planting soil on top, refer to specifications for the detail procedures and requirements. - Make provisions to install new supports for remaining pipes, ducts & tray after any arch. M/e & process removal or alternation. Suggested sequences of structural demolition. - Contractor to install interior/exterior insulation & watertight hoarding to separate public from construction zones and always provide required safe means of egress from all zones of the existing building to the approval of authorities having jurisdiction. - Refer to as built drawing for details of existing building foundation and slab on grade. - Refer to the Structural Drawing S-501 to follow instructions on underground undistributed soil which needs to be Engineering filled approved by the Geotechnical Engineer. - Pour and finish a new concrete floor to required thickness, meeting ONTC's specifications for durability, surface texture, and load-bearing requirements. - Ensure the new floor surface is free from any defects such as cracks, uneven areas, or rough patches. - Conduct quality testing for the new concrete floor, including but not limited to compressive strength tests, to verify compliance with ONTC standards. Mechanical & Plumbing: - Conduct a detailed survey and review of the Blast Bay to identify all MEP systems and utility lines that must remain protected. - Refer to the Drawings for Blast Bay floor plan as instructed. Cap any underground utility line as instructed to accommodate future renovations. - Refer to Mechanical and Plumbing Drawing Sheet No. P 101 to facilitate 100mm storm chase from roof drains above. - Refer to Mechanical and Plumbing Drawing Sheet No. P 101 to extend storm water piping from building addition and tie into existing. - Refer to Mechanical and Plumbing Drawing Sheet No. P 101 to connect new 100mm a buried storm drain to existing buried storm water piping at this approximate location. - Refer to Mechanical and Plumbing Drawing Sheet No. P. 101 to accommodate existing buried 100mm storm piping. - Refer to Mechanical and Plumbing Drawing Sheet No. P 101 to accommodate existing buried 80mm sanitary piping. - Refer to Mechanical and Plumbing Drawing Sheet No. P 101 to facilitate new sanitary piping to serve mechanical room. - Refer to Mechanical and Plumbing Drawing Sheet No. P 101 to facilitate new sanitary piping to serve mop and wash sinks. - Ensure all underground utility lines are maintained and protected. - Protect all existing MEP systems from damage during the project. - Coordinate with ONTC facility management to establish clear access points, staging areas, and safe working zones within the Paint Shop. - Conduct regular inspections throughout the project to verify that protection measures remain effective. - Address any identified issues prior to project completion. - Remove all temporary protections and construction materials from the site. - Restore any areas impacted by the construction process to their original condition. - Relocate Mechanical and Electrical Services as shown in the contract documents and drawings. - Perform Interior repairs to accommodate the exterior work including painting. - Protect any Fire Suppression Equipment or system as required during construction. - Perform any duct/exhaust work as required and mentioned in the drawings. - The contractor is expected to deliver construction turnkey activities for this project resulting in a finished, fully functional, usable facility that satisfies all project requirements and contract terms. - Building permit will not be required, any other required permits will be the Contractor's responsibility. - Coordination with utility providers, Municipalities, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and Fire Department is the contractor's responsibility. - Please note any deviation(s) must be first agreed to and approved by ONTC.
