Demolition, site work, new construction and addition to a mixed-use development in Michigan City, Indiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a 6,893-square-foot medical facility; for site work for a medical facility; water / sewer project; for the addition of a medical facility; and for the demolition of a medical facility.

A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** *As per source: "All that has been is the ranking of RFQs for Project Management of the Project" The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, fuel, superintendence, temporary construction facilities, insurance, taxes, permits, fees and all other services and facilities, except as stated to be furnished by others, necessary to complete the work as called for on the plans and/or herein specified. Estimated cost is $1,500,000 to $1,700,000. La Porte County, La Porte County, Indiana, acting by and through its Board of Commissioners, will receive sealed bids for the EMS, Michigan City Building Project, in La Porte County, Indiana. Bids received after said time will be returned unopened. Bidders are hereby notified that the project is being funded entirely by La Porte County. Bids shall be good for 90 days from acceptance. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Any questions about bidding conditions must be addressed to the LaPorte County Engineer, Jerry Sullivan at: jgsullivan@laporteco.in.gov no later than Monday January 13th 2025.Prospective bidders shall notify the LaPorte County Engineer, Jerry Sullivan at: jgsullivan@laporteco.in.gov so the bidder will be added to a bidders list and notified of any addendum to the bid documents.Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Project is generally defined as follows:LaPorte County Michigan EMS Project The Project involves the demolition of the existing EMS building and the construction of a 6893 sq ft EMS building including plumbing, power, lighting foundation, concrete block HVAC, ethernet, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water hook up. Equipment mentioned on the plans will be relocated from the existing building. The addition consists of 1 office cubicle, 10 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living area, a laundry room, two bathrooms, an equipment room, a workout room, a training room and a utility room,The work to be performed and the bid to be submitted shall include sufficient and proper sums for all General Construction, Foundation, Concrete, Mechanical and Electrical Installation, Labor, Materials, Tools, Equipment, Permits, Licenses, Insurance, Service Costs, and so forth incidental to and required for the construction of the building. The project is tax exempt. Each bid must be sealed in an envelope bearing the title of the Project and the name and address of the Bidder. All bids must be submitted on the bid forms as identified in the Contract Documents and Specifications. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond made payable to the Owner, in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the highest aggregate bid, which check or bond will be held by the Owner as evidence that the bidder will, if awarded the contract, enter into the same with the Owner upon notification from him to do so within ten (10) days of said notification.Approved performance and payment bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of the Contractor at the time he executes his contract. The bond will be in the amount of 100% of the Contract price and must be in full force and effect throughout the term of the Construction Contract plus a period of twelve (12) months from the date of substantial completion. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids, or to make such combination of bids as may seem desirable, and to waive any and all informalities in bidding. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least Thirty (30) days.Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms included in the Specifications. The Owner reserves the right to reject any Bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such Bidder fails to satisfy the Owner that such Bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Agreement and to complete the work contemplated therein.Each Bidder is responsible for inspecting the Project Site and for reading and being thoroughly familiar with the Plans, Contract Documents and Specifications. The failure or omission of any Bidder to do any of the foregoing shall in no way relieve any Bidder from any obligation with respect to its Bid.
