Demolition, site work, new construction and renovation of a civil project in Burlington, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Plans call for two bonds totaling $225 million in March 2025. $204 million is to go towards upgrading the wastewater system, replacing aging machines, building additional tanks. $30 million to purchase a new filtration devise to reduce the amount of phosphorus going into the lake. $30 million to close the treatment plant on Riverside Avenue. $21 million drinking water bond to decommission the pump house on Main Street and build a new one on the same lot with upgrades. As of March 17, 2026, in June 2025 the city council approved a 30% final design engineering contract for the wastewater plant improvements, with groundbreaking occurred on the Headworks improvements projects that includes improvements to screening and grit equipment at all 3 wastewater plants in Burlington. This work is part of the Sustainable Infrastructure plan in July 2025.
