West Virginia University (WVU, or Owner) is requesting Proposals to construct Phase 1 only, a new artificial turf field at the Health Sciences Center Recreational Field located along Route 705, adjacent to the WVU Mountaineer Station parking facility. This project is to construct a new artificial turf practice field for the WVU Marching Band and will be known as The Pride Practice Facility. The Phase 1 work includes, but is not limited to sediment and erosion control, excavation and grading work, concrete work, artificial turf field and installation, various site utilities, landscaping, relocation of 40 band tower, and modifications to the adjacent storm water management pond. The Phase 2 building and Phase 3 pavilion shown on sheet G050 are NOT part of this project and this RFP. Anticipated Contract Start Date March 1, 2025 Substantial Completion shall be: July 15, 2025 Final Completion shall be: July 31, 2025 a. Liquidated Damages shall be Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) per Calendar Day of delay in achieving Substantial Completion and Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500) per Calendar Day of delay in achieving Final Completion. The University reserves the right at its sole discretion to reject any and all Proposals received without penalty and not to issue a contract as a result of this RFP
