A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Engineering Estimate $ 1,250,612.25 Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the form of a Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Letter of Credit payable to the City of Findlay, Ohio, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid or a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid. A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) on the contract price will be required as part of the contract. Bids will be accepted from ODOT pre-qualified contractors only. Bidders are advised that this is a Federal-aid project. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Requirement. DBE participation goals (subcontracts, materials, supplies) of 6%, have been set on this project for those certified as DBEs pursuant to Title 23, U.S.C section 140 (c) and 49 CFR, Part 26, and where applicable qualified to bid with ODOT under Chapter 5525 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC). All Bidders shall submit a DBE Utilization Plan at the time of bid setting forth specific information demonstrating how the Bidder will achieve the DBE goal. The DBE Utilization Plan shall be submitted online . THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF CURB REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT AND/OR PAVEMENT PLANING AND RESURFACING ON BROAD AVENUE AND MELROSE AVENUE WITHIN THE CITY OF FINDLAY. INCIDENTAL ITEMS INCLUDE NECESSARY SIDEWALK OR CURB RAMP REPLACEMENT TO ADA COMPLIANCE, TREATMENT OF SHOULDERS, ADJUSTMENT OF MANHOLES AND CATCH BASINS, AND GRADING AND SEEDING. OTHER MINOR WORK IS DESCRIBED IN THE DETAILS FOR EACH SEGMENT OF PAVEMENT. This project consists of nearly 11,400 linear feet of curb removal and replacement and/or pavement planning (approximately 25,535 SY) and resurfacing (approximately 1,419 CY) on Melrose and Broad Avenue within the City of Findlay and Hancock County. Incidental items include necessary sidewalk or curb ramp replacement (approximately 6,145 SF), treatment of shoulders, adjustment catch basins, and grading and seeding. Other minor work is described in the details for each segment of pavement. Installation and material specifications shall comply with the appropriate AWWA, ANSI, EPA, ODOT, and OSHA specifications throughout. Conflicts arising due to the contradictions of the specifications shall be resolved by the contracting authority. The contractor is required to meet all applicable Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements. The entire project area, including material storage areas shall be maintained in a safe, neat, and orderly manner at all times. At times when the Contractor is not on site, the Engineer shall notify the Contractor of any deficiency and said deficiency shall be remedied within a time period specified by the Engineer. The City of Findlay Street Department shall correct deficiencies not remedied in an acceptable time, and all time and materials will be billed to the Contractor. Particular attention shall be given to dust and dirt control in the streets, sidewalks and drives within the project limits and on any haul roads leading to or away from the project that are used by the Contractor, his subcontractors, and his material suppliers. The Contractor shall provide the Engineer with the "after hours" telephone contact number of an individual responsible for maintaining a safe, clean work area and for making emergency repairs.
