Hancock County Fiber Loop Extension Project The Board of County Commissioners of Hancock County, Ohio , is soliciting statements of qualifications for design professional services in connection with a potential project to design a system of conduit or aerial cables to contain a set of fiber-optic lines to provide and enhance connections and communications between and among county offices, employees, service providers, and the public. The first such possible project is contemplated to extend along a route running along Bigelow Avenue from Main Street to county Road 140, and then along County Road 140 from Bigelow Avenue to Westfield Drive, including additions to one set of buried conduit or aerial cable and a second set of buried conduit or aerial cable running parallel to the first, amounting to about 3.8 miles. Actions to be undertaken include the evaluation of the contemplated route and any alternative routes, and evaluation of the existing conduit or aerial cable along any routes proposed, identification and mapping of the existing conduit and features of the surface of the routes involved, analysis of the possibilities for replacement, updates, and improvement of those systems, analysis of the possible costs involved in any actions that might be taken, and the production of a cost-benefit analysis of the options before the Commissioners.
