As of September, 12, 2025, this project is is seeking final approvals from the city. An architect has been selected and a general contractor has been chosen. Construction is expected to begin in December 2025 and be completed in April 2026. The general nature and scope of this project is: Furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary to properly abandon approximately 1,420 LF of 24-Inch HDPE raw water main under the SIRWCD Canal, FDOT's Indiantown Road and SFWMD's Canal C-18 in accordance with the Contract Documents. This work includes, but is not limited to: removing and replacing +/- 100 LF of 6-foot high chain link fence plus a 12-foot wide double swing gate; installing and removing +/- 100 LF of temporary construction fence; providing dewatering, shoring and other equipment necessary to excavate access pits around both ends of the existing 24- Inch HDPE raw water main; remove and salvage 24-Inch ductile iron tees, sleeves, plugs and other material from each end; grout fill the abandoned 24-Inch HDPE pipe from each end with an estimated 111 cubic yards of grout; backfill, replace any stabilized or base rock areas, compact, regrade, sod and restore both areas to like or better condition than prior to construction.
