The campus has an established permitting process and utilizes consultants to provide code compliance plan reviews for construction projects. The plan review team shall have the ability to review project plans and specifications with respect to all applicable California Building Codes for building and infrastructure projects including site work, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, civil, and structural to recommend issuance of project permits. In addition to CBC review, consultant may be requested to provide a Seismic Peer review that will satisfy the UC Seismic Safety Policy and UC Facilities Manual. Campus Fire Marshal will review for fire code compliance, and a designated campus personnel will review for ADA access compliance and energy standards for most projects; however, the campus may seek these services to be performed by the selected firm.
