The City of Seldovia is accepting proposals from qualified contractors for the purchase and installation (including wiring) of a new 26KW-30KW diesel backup generator at the City of Seldovia Multipurpose Building located at 260 Seldovia Street, Seldovia, AK 99663. The selected proposer will purchase, provide and install all components to ensure a fully operational backup power system, including all necessary electrical connections, fuel tank, conduit runs, and an automatic transfer switch (ATS). The City of Seldovia reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received as a result of this RFP. If a proposal is selected it will be the most advantageous regarding price, quality of service, contractors' qualifications and capabilities to provide the specified materials and services within the specified timeframe. The City of Seldovia reserves the right to consider proposals for modifications at any time before a contract is be awarded, and negotiations may be undertaken with that contractor whose proposal is deemed to best meet the City's specifications and needs. In the event it becomes necessary to revise any part of this RFP, an addenda will be provided. Deadlines for submission of RFPs may be adjusted to allow for revisions. Project is being funded through a Title III Emergency Preparedness Grant. Project total is not to exceed $50,000, inclusive of equipment, supplies, travel, freight and labor. Proposer's Responsibilities. The Proposer shall make all investigations necessary to thoroughly inform themselves regarding the Project. Failure to do so is at the risk of the Proposer. Costs of Response Preparation and Other Charges. Proposers are solely responsible for all costs of preparing their proposals and participation in this RFP. The City assumes no responsibility for payment of any expenses incurred by a Proposer as part of this process. For the selected proposer, no reimbursement will be made by the City for any costs incurred prior to full execution of a contract and issuance of written notice by the City to commence Project services. Agreement Required. A written agreement will be required between the City and the selected Proposer, which agreement will be in the form and substance required by the City. A sample agreement is included with this RFP, but the City reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions thereof. PROJECT TIMELINE Funding for the project is provided through a Title III Emergency Preparedness Grant. The entire project, including purchase and installation, must be completed no later than June 30, 2025. A Notice of Intent to Award will be issued to the Proposer with the highest total evaluation points and provided to all applicants by February 24, 2025. A resolution awarding the contract to the proposer will be provided to the Seldovia City Council for their consideration at their regularly scheduled City Council meeting February 24, 2025. No contract may be awarded unless the Seldovia City Council has approved the award by resolution. If the City Manager or Council determines that it is in the best interest of the City to do so, the City may reject all bids.
