The project consists of new road construction from Vale Park Road to Ransom Road, including storm sewer,sidewalks, and incidental striping and signage. Contractor will also be responsible for the maintenance of trafficalong existing streets adjacent to the work. Any questions are due (3) days before bids are due. Proposals shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid Form, and must be accompanied by anexecuted Indiana State Board of Accounts Form 96, confirmation that copies of Addenda were received (ifissued), and satisfactory bid security. A certified or cashier s check payable to the City of Valparaiso or a bidbond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the bid amount must accompany each bid. All checks ofunsuccessful bidders shall be returned to them by the City upon selection of successful bidder. The successfulBidder will be required to provide a Performance and Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred (100)percent of the Contract amount.Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under the Contract(s) forwhich a bid is submitted. Bidders and their subcontractors shall be INDOT prequalified to perform the workspecified in these contract documents. Materials shall be supplied by an INDOT certified manufacturer.Pursuant to Indiana Code 22-5-1.7-11, the Contractor entering into a contract with the City of Valparaiso isrequired to enroll in and verify the work eligibility status of all of its newly hired employees through the E-Verifyprogram. The Contractor is not required to verify the work eligibility status of all its newly hired employeesthrough the E-Verify program if the E-Verify program no longer exists.Pursuant to Indiana Code 5-22-16.5 the City of Valparaiso may not contract with a person who is engaged ininvestment activities in Iran.Pursuant to Ordinance 16-2024, the City has adopted certain responsible bidding practices. The Contractor shallprovide all required material with its Bid documents and comply with all other provisions.In determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, the City of Valparaiso will consider the Total BaseBid made for the Contract.
