**As of March 14, 2025, the project was awarded to Empire Carpentry but the awarded amount is not available.** Reference Number 0000375116 Bid Intent: Not Available The Town of Windsor seeks qualified contractors to complete construction and restoration services for the historic preservation of the 1873 Halfway House. This project consists of restoring the building to its appearance during the period of significance of 1873-1882, adhering to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. SCOPE OF WORK: The selected firm shall provide comprehensive contractor services in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Tasks include but are not limited to: 1. Exterior Restoration: o Evaluate foundation and determine safest way to lift building to repair/replace foundation. o Clapboard restoration and replacement in kind as needed on north, east, and south walls. West wall to be finished in a modern surface appropriate for mounting interpretive signage. o Window and door rehabilitation or replacement in-kind. 2. Interior Restoration: o Replace broken lath and apply new gypsum plaster. o Remove and refinish damaged flooring with historically appropriate techniques. o Repair and resize moldings to align with the period of significance. o Repaint interior woodwork and surfaces with oil-based primers and paint. 3. General Site Work: o Staging, waste removal, and site cleanup. o OSHA compliance and insurance coordination. 4. Coordination and Approvals: o Attend regular project team meetings. o Obtain necessary permits.
