This project proposes to construct a new two-story Education Building II Phase I building at Ben Clark Training Center (BCTC). The proposed project will expand lab, office, and physical education spaces to meet enrollment demand and student needs. The project will also provide a facility that is owned outright by the BCTC Educational Center and reduce BCTC's reliance on leased training space from the County of Riverside and other public agencies. The new facility will also include upgraded infrastructure and building systems, with technology critical to student success. The proposed Education Building II Phase I building is planned to encompass 33,700 Gross Square Feet (GSF) and consists of 19,100 Assignable Square Feet (ASF). Functional space within the building will include 15,100 ASF of laboratory space, 1,200 ASF of faculty office space, and 2,800 ASF of other support space. The proposed project will be located just south of Eleventh Street and just east of the existing the Education Building I facility. There are no secondary effects associated with this project. The proposed project represents the first of two phases to construct the BCTC Education Building II. Total project cost is estimated at $29,895,680 The State Capital Outlay program considers the proposed project as a Category G: Growth project. This project is included in the state's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
