This project is renovation of an existing outdoor open space on the Storrs Campus. In collaboration with UConn Global Affairs, the project will create an outdoor plaza to foster a sense of global-mindedness and recognize tolerance as a precursor to peace in an increasingly diverse world. Program elements include hardscape, concrete pavement, specialty pavers, and porous pavement. Landscape includes flowering trees, deciduous shade trees, evergreen hedge, flowering shrubs and lawn areas. Site amenities include granite bench, block granite seat wall, stone markers, brick pilaster and outdoor sculpture. Site utilities include site lighting, irrigation and any utility re-work required to complete the project. Location: Storrs Campus, on land between Babbidge Library and Bousfield Psychology Building, Storrs, CT 06269. Provide a copy of a Bid Bond made out in the penal sum of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount. In lieu of a Bid Bond, a Certified Check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Amount is acceptable. A Bid Bond is only required for any Total Bid Amount over $50,000.00. A Total Bid Amount of $50,000.00 or less does not require a Bid Bond. The Set-Aside Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). The North Parking Garage is recommended to all vendors as parking on campus is at your own risk.
