The project includes, but is not limited to, the following major items Demolition of Existing Exterior Building and Site Elements: Handicap concrete ramp, retaining walls, existing canopy of the side entrance, paved areas, flagpole and vegetation. The new building entrance also requires the demolition of the lower level exterior wall. Interior Demolition: Miscellaneous partitions, ceilings, and flooring, as well as plumbing fixtures and associated electrical circuits and mechanical duct branches. Two adjacent walls of the elevator shaft and pit need to be demolished or cut back. New Exterior Canopy and Ramp: Construction of a new 64' +/- concrete ramp with associated retaining walls covered by a laminated wood canopy of equal length. New Exterior Plaza: Existing landscaped areas are replaced with permeable pavers and stepped seating walls. New Administration Area: New partition layout, ceilings, flooring, kitchenette for the school administration. New Entrance and Security Vestibule: Two (2) single entrance with storefront sidelights in a new exterior wall opening; interior security vestibule storefront with double door. Access control ready hardware and coordination with school's security vendor. Display case in security vestibule. New Elevator (Bid Alternate): Kone machine-room-less traction elevator with control closet and associated new shaft enclosure. The existing shaft overrun is adequate to accommodate the new elevator; assume no elevator related roofing work is necessary. The Town of Mansfield is undertaking an alteration project, which includes a new visitor entrance with canopy and associated sitework, and interior renovations to the adjacent administrative areas; an elevator replacement is requested as an add alternate to this bid. The building is a steel framed 2-story split-level structure with brick-faced exterior walls. The existing elevator, a hydraulic 3-stop elevator in a CMU shaft is proposed to be replaced with a machine-rrom-less traction elevator (MRL); this requires shaft and pit modifications as shown on the bid documents.
