Northwest Residential Area - Thermal Comfort Improvements - Phase 2 Project Location: Storrs Campus, 110 North Eagleville Road, Storrs, CT 06269 The project involves installation of air conditioning systems in Hanks Hall and Goodyear Hall of the existing 6 building Northwest residence complex. Cooling to be provided to floors 2 through 4 of the 2 buildings. Conditioned make-up air systems to be installed as part of the project. All work in the associated dorm rooms must be completed by August 7th, 2026. Heat for the dorm rooms must be operational by October 1, 2026. Remaining construction must be completed by December 1st, 2026. Cooling systems must be operational by April 15th, 2027. Installation to include new CHW HXs, pumps, dual temperature piping systems, fan coil units, make up air units, and associated controls. Installation to include all associated piping, insulation, ductwork, plumbing, power, controls and fire alarm. The make-up air units to be installed in new interior mechanical rooms. Vertical shafts through the dorms to be installed for new make-up air ductwork. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION QUESTIONS: All Requests for Information ("RFI") questions are to be posted under the Q&A Board Tab in the HuskyBuy sourcing event for this Solicitation. No phone calls or RFI questions emailed directly to the Procurement Agent will be accepted CLARIFICATIONS, ADDENDA, and INTERPRETATIONS: Proposers shall promptly notify the University of any ambiguity, inconsistency, or error which they may discover upon examination of the contract documents. PROJECT SCHEDULE/DURATION: Anticipated Contract Issuance/Notice to Proceed: November 2025 Construction is planned to start: December 15, 2025 Construction Duration: 12 months Questions deadline: 8/21/25 at 2:00 PM SELF-PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT: If awarded this contract, the Contractor shall be required to perform not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price with its own forces. SET-ASIDE REQUIREMENTS: The Set-Aside Requirement for this Project is that (1) not less than thirty percent (30%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Small Business Enterprises" ("SBEs") and (2) not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Contract Price be awarded to subcontractors who are certified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services as "Minority Business Enterprises" ("MBEs") (the 10% set aside for MBEs may be included in the 30% set aside for SBEs). If the Contractor is an S/MBE, then any self-performed work may be included in the Set-Aside Requirement. The Contractor is responsible for ensuring that they, and the S/MBEs they have selected, are eligible Connecticut-certified S/MBE contractors.
