Site work for a civil project in Covington, Georgia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

**As of October 30, 2025, this project has been canceled. Cornish Creek Water Treatment Facility Questions Due Date: Mar 7th 2025, 9:00 AM EST Newton County Board of Commissioners and Cornish Creek Water Treatment Facility will be receiving separate sealed proposals for Alcovy River Pump Station 2-New Bar Screen. Cornish Creek Water Treatment Facility (CCWTF) will be replacing the bar screen at the raw water pump station located along Alcovy Trestle Road in Newton County Georgia. The Bar screen is a critical component in water intake process, designed to filter out debris and large particles from the raw water supply before it enters the pump station system. The overall goal is to enhance the operational reliability and efficiency of the pump station, reduce the likelihood of equipment damage from debris and ensure the long term sustainability of water services to the surrounding areas. Key Aspects of the Project: 1. Removal of the Existing Bar Screen: The old, worn-out bar screen will be carefully disassembled and removed from the station without damaging surrounding equipment or infrastructure. 2. Installation of the New Bar Screen: A new, durable bar screen will be installed to the required specifications, ensuring optimal filtration and minimal maintenance. The new system will include modern features to improve performance and extend the lifespan of the equipment. 3. Site Preparation and Safety Measures: Before the installation, the site will be assessed and prepared for the replacement work, including clearing any obstacles, securing the work zone, and ensuring safety protocols are in place for workers and the community. 4. Testing and Commissioning: After installation, the new bar screen will be tested to ensure it operates at peak efficiency, with particular attention given to the proper integration of the system with the existing raw water pump station. This specification describes minimum requirements for the design, selection, Contractor/Vendor, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the one (1) new river pump station raw water intake screen. The contractor shall also be responsible for the removal and disposal of the existing screen, per owner preferred method. The unit package of screen shall consist of the following components as the minimum; automated bar screen, self-contained electrical vendor 120V ac control panel, bar screen starter installed in an existing MCC, control instrumentation and all appurtenances. All the components of the unitshall be the responsibility by a single Contractor/Vendor to fabricate or procure, integrate, factory test, deliver to the project site, install and commission as a Unit Responsibility. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor/Vendor to coordinate all details and components required for a properly functioning system.
