A mandatory information conference/pre-proposal meeting is required for this invitation. INTRODUCTION The project involves the removal of existing asphalt surface material and installing a new tire-derived product surface for the walking track. The work includes: Removal of existing asphalt track surface Base preparation and repairs as needed Installation of new 1.5-inch-thick bonded rubber mulch surface Site security during construction Total surface area: approximately 6,500 square feet BID FORMAT REQUIREMENTS Each response to this Invitation to Bid shall include the information described. Failure to include all the elements specified may cause rejection. Additional information may be provided but should be brief and relevant to the goals of this invitation. Spalding County is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for the resurfacing of the walking track at Historic Sunny Side Community Park, located at 4924 Old Atlanta Road, Griffin, GA 30223. This project is funded through the Tire-Derived Product Grant from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division. The project involves the removal of existing asphalt surface material and installing a new tirederived product surface for the walking track. The work includes: o Removal of existing asphalt track surface o Base preparation and repairs as needed o Installation of new 1.5-inch-thick bonded rubber mulch surface o Site security during construction o Total surface area: approximately 6,500 square feet o To grade for and install an 8' wide bonded rubber mulch walking trail that extends approximately 800' in length. (Exact measurements may be obtained at Pre-Bid) o Removal of the top layer of rubber, leaving the asphalt layer as the base for the new rubber o Spalding County will provide roll-off containers and cover hauling and disposal of old rubber o Base preparation and repairs as needed o The following minimum specifications should be adhered to: o Surface Material: o 100% post-consumer waste tire containing no metal or lead o Colored Buffing (recycled tire-buffing particles) o Particle size range: 1/2" to 2" o Material must be non-toxic, anti-fungal, and non-absorbent o Free of wire and cotton/polyester contaminants o Thickness: 1.5 inches o Completion date may be a factor in bid award. o Contractor will be responsible for obtaining all locates. o The installation of the bonded rubber material must be per Spalding County Parks Department specifications and inspected by their Designee. o The final trail layout and direction will be laid out with the winning bidder. o No disposal or washing/cleaning of equipment will be allowed on site.
