Project includes the installation per design of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, racking, inverters, fencing, and electrical connective equipment on the ground of the Lake County Government Center Utilities. Install AC panel boxes for collecting the AC power from the inverters and distribute to the electrical service. Install connective equipment from the AC panels to the utility grid per utility s direction. Work includes all materials required to ground mount 1968 - 590Wdc solar panels, connect to 16 inverters, connect to AC collector/distribution panel, and interconnect to the service side of the new, utility transformer at 277/480V (3-phase, Delta-grounded WYE). Each bidder shall accompany his proposal with the proper bid security made payable to the Board of Commissioners of Lake County as follows: Any person, firm or corporation who submits a proposal and has a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MUST submit a BOND in the amount of five percent (5%) of their total bid. Any person, firm or corporation who submits a bid and DOES NOT have a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MUST file with their bid a CERTIFIED CHECK BANK DRAFT, CASHIER S CHECK or MONEY ORDER issued by a financial institution by an agency of the United States in the amount of five percent (5.0%) of their bid, made payable to the Board of Commissioners of Lake County. The successful Bidder will be required to carry Workmen s Compensation, Employee s Liability Insurance and Comprehensive Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance in amounts and with companies satisfactory to the owner. In addition, the contractor shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the Contract Sum. Executive Summary of Goals. 1) Employment - The contractor shall have a goal of Thirty-Four (34%) Percent of minority work force participation (as a percentage ofthe total number of employees or the total number of hours worked on the project, whichever is greater) and 6.9% for work force participation by women (as a percentage of the total number of employees or the total number of hours worked on the project, whichever is greater), if available. Subcontractors and Suppliers- A goal ofThirteen (13%) Percent forMBE participation and Two (2%) Percent for WBE participation (as a percentage of the total contract amount) is hereby set for the project. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any Bid and to waive any irregularities in the bidding. All bids may be held for a period not to exceed 120 days, or as otherwise stated in the Contract Documents before awarding the contract.
