Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Crown Point, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility; for site work for a recreation facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Scope of Work includes construction of two restroom buildings on the Fairgrounds property; the East restroom and the Main Restroom buildings as follows: The East Restroom work includes the construction of a 4-fixture per gender restrooms and janitor's closet. concrete foundations, CMU, brick veneer and glass block exterior walls, insulated concrete slab, wood trusses, prefinished standing seam roof, insulation, drywall ceilings, hollow metal doors, frames and hardware, toilet partitions and accessories, interior painting, plumbing including sinks, toilets and urinals, mechanical ventilation and heating system, electrical power and lighting systems and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.. Exterior work consists of a concrete apron at the front of the building. Utilities will connect to existing utilities near the site. Limited gravel shall be laid adjacent to the building to match adjacent grades. The Main Restroom work consists of the construction of 5-fixture per gender restrooms and janitor's closet after removal of the current restroom in it entirety. Work on the Main Restroom shall be similar to that of the East Restroom. Utilities will connect to existing utilities immediately adjacent to the site. Site work consists of concrete sidewalks and asphalt patching in disturbed areas. Lawn restoration shall be completed by the Facility. BID SECURITY: As identified in County Form 1, Section VIII (D). Bid security shall be made payable to the Board of Commissioners of Lake County, Indiana, as follows: Any person, firm, or corporation who submits a proposal and has a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MUST submit a BOND in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of their total bid amount for offers over one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00). Any person, firm, or corporation who submits a Bid and DOES NOT have a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MUST file with their bid a CERTIFIED CHECK, BANK DRAFT, CASHIER'S CHECK, or MONEY ORDER issued by a financial institution insured by an agency of the United States, made payable to "The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lake, State of Indiana." All certified checks of unsuccessful bidders shall be returned upon selection of a successful bidder. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Contract Performance and Payment Bonds for 100 % of their contract amount within ten (10) days after award of the contract. Bonds shall be maintained in accordance with IC 36-1-12-13.1 and 36-1-12-14. Bonds shall be in full force and effect for a period of at least 12 months after the date of final completion of the Contract. Should the contractor's bonding company give notice of cancellation; the contractor will be responsible for securing new bonds prior to termination. Bids may be held by the Board of Commissioners for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening; no Contractor may withdraw their proposal within that time. The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities or irregularities therein, to delete any bid item or items and to award a contract on the proposal that in their judgment is most advantageous to Lake County.
