The Authority or VIPA invites the submission of electronic proposals for the furnishing of all labor, material, services and equipment for the removal and replacement of four (4) ticket counters at the Edward Blyden Marine Terminal on St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. The ticket counters must meet ADA compliant standards and should be able to withstand seablast. Question Deadline 03/28/2025 at 11:59 PM AT Online - Q&A The Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms to undertake the renovation of the four (4) ticket counters situated at the Edward Wilmoth Blyden, IV Marine Terminal. This initiative aims to enhance the overall functionality and aesthetic appeal of the ticketing area while ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The selected contractor will be responsible for both the design and construction phases of the project, which includes providing a design that meets modern standards and regulatory requirements. The renovation process will involve not only the physical upgrades to the counters but also considerations for optimizing the workflow and improving the overall passenger experience. VIPA encourages innovative solutions that align with its vision for a seamless travel experience, while simultaneously addressing the need for ADA compliance to better serve all members of the community. Proposals will be evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including relevant experience, design creativity, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to project timelines. It is imperative that the work is executed with minimal disruption to public. Furthermore, the contractor will be accountable for obtaining all necessary permits, including covering any associated costs, and must coordinate all required inspections to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards. Deliverables During all phases of removal and construction, all services to the facility must be maintained. The Contractor shall provide a conceptual design and preliminary cost estimated for VIPA's review. The Contractor shall provide final plans and specifications and cost estimates. The Contractor will be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits for this project. The Contractor shall provide construction service to construct project according to plans.
