The project will develop and enhance trail connections throughout the City, establishing a continuous multi-use path system extending from Friendship Park to Festival Fields along the river and utility corridors. Specifically, it will link the existing multi-use path along the Agua Fria River, connecting Festival Fields Park to existing trails north of Lower Buckeye Road, adjacent to the Tres Rios Landing neighborhood. The project includes the installation of a HighIntensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) signal at Lower Buckeye Road to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety. Per the adopted Active Transportation Plan, expanding the trail network will enhance outdoor recreational opportunities and improve accessibility to key City assets.
