Boardwalk Deck Replacement The City of West Haven (hereafter referred to as the city) is soliciting Bids for the replacement of decking at the West Haven Boardwalk section located at the end of Altschuler Boulevard This project is subject to CHRO compliance requirements under Connecticut General Statutes 4a-60 and 4a-60a, including nondiscrimination, affirmative action, and set-aside goals for Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women-Owned Businesses (WBEs). The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and accept the proposal in the City's best interest. Respondents must maintain an active Connecticut business license throughout the contract period. Questions regarding the Invitation To Bid should be directed to Kathy Chambers (kchambers@westhaven-ct.gov) The City of West Haven is requesting sealed bids from contractors for the replacement of the decking on the City Boardwalk section located at the end of Altschuler Boulevard. The selected contractor will be responsible for the removal and replacement of the existing deck and framing. The chosen contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform the following services including but not limited to: - Remove and dispose approximately 3,600 sq. ft. of pressure- treated decking. - Remove and replace 60 linear feet of framing on the northeast side. - Remove exiting handrails and posts and inspect existing framing for the new decking installation. -Replace decking with new saltwater-rated, pressure-treated 5/4 decking using stainless- steel screws and hardware. - Install new posts and assemble new pressure-treated railings to match the existing railing along the Boardwalk. - Ensure the work area is properly closed off with markings and signage for public safety until the project is complete. - Submit plans to the City of West Haven Building Department for approval. Permits are required but will be issued at no charge.
