Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in West Haven, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of West Haven is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for the installation of wooden guardrails at two locations: Beach Street and the Sandy Point Parking Lot. This project is funded through CDA funding, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Block Grant (CDBG) Program administered by the City of West Haven. As such, federal labor standards and other HUD requirements apply including DavisBacon prevailing wage requirements. 1. Beach Street Install a wooden guardrail along the water side of Beach Street, positioned 6 inches from the edge of the sidewalk. Starting point: Coast Guard Light Tower End point: Across from Second Avenue. The rail must stop and restart at all stairways and the three benches located along the walking path. Total length: Approximately 1,200 feet. Materials: o 8" x 8" pressure-treated posts o 4" x 8" beams, each 10 feet in length 2. Sandy Point Parking Lot Install a wooden fence down the center of the parking lot, between existing planters. Two segments: o 100 feet between one set of planters o 140 feet between another, for a total of 240 feet Use the same materials as listed above for Beach Street.
