Dirk Siebenbrodt, PE, Engineer III dirk.siebenbrodt@hollyspringsnc.gov The Town of Holly Springs is seeking a Statement of Qualifications from licensed Engineering firms for professional engineering services, construction administration, construction engineering & inspections in the preparation of the Ting Park Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project. Ting Park (also formerly known as North Main Athletic Park) was constructed in 2015 and is located between NC 55 and Main Street at 101 Sportsmanship Way in Holly Springs, NC 27540. Ting Park, with its stadium and multiple sports fields, is a year-round active recreation facility and sports venue that serves Holly Springs and the surrounding community. Attachment A gives an overview of Ting Park. Staff has noted that the condition of the pavement in two of the parking lots along the northern perimeter of the facility, adjacent to Sportsmanship Way, were showing signs of degradation that were inconsistent with the age of the pavement. These two parking lot areas are shown as P2 A and P2 B on Attachment B. Town staff engaged an engineering firm to complete an assessment of the pavement condition and make preliminary recommendations. The assessment confirmed that the pavement in these two lots were degrading faster than would be typically expected. The preliminary recommendation(s) were to determine the cause of the accelerated degradation, prepare design options to mitigate the causes, and implement the design options. To that extent, the Town of Holly Springs is seeking a qualified North Carolina licensed professional engineering firm to provide services to: o Determine the cause(s) of the degradation o Develop design options to mitigate the cause(s) o Develop plans and specifications for the selected mitigation option(s) o Assist the Town during the implementation and construction. The selected firm will be expected to provide and/or coordinate the full range of professional services needed to develop a design package for a cost effective and long-term solution that mitigates the accelerated degradation. The selected firm will also be expected to provide and/or coordinate professional engineering and administrative services during the implementation and construction.
