This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Osage Beach, Missouri. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE In 2024, the City of Osage Beach was awarded the Safer Streets for All Grant through Federal Highway Administration. The City aims to enhance transportation safety along the City's roadways as well as equity and livability for all residents and visitors, with a particular focus on underserved communities. The project includes multimodal mobility investments that will proactively create new connections and opportunities for underserved communities that have been historically underserved by transportation. The City of Osage Beach envisions a comprehensive Safety Action Plan including the following steps: 1. Participate as a member of a Safety Action Committee comprised of stakeholder agency leadership that will research successful crash reduction strategies (such as Vision Zero), establish program goals, guide the development of the plan, and commit to adopting policies that achieve program goals. 2. Institute a Share the Road program reaching out to all members of the community via dynamic message signs; billboards; seminars conducted in schools, senior centers, low-income housing complexes, and hospitals/medical clinics; create social media campaigns and enlist local media resources within 6 months of grant award improving transportation safety awareness. 3. Identify a comprehensive, prioritized list of projects with a proactive risk management approach. Initial ideas include a road diet along Osage Beach Parkway, greenways along several city streets connecting schools and multi-use trails, use of innovative technology such as safety cameras within city vehicles, add safety treatments such as rumble strips, wider edge lines, flashing beacons and more visible street signs. The list of projects will build upon the Lake of the Ozarks Trail and Connectivity Master Plan developed in 2022. 4. Complete a demonstration project that includes bike lanes on Osage Beach Parkway and several collector streets west of the Grand Glaize Bridge between Nichols Rd and Highway KK by using high visibility striping, signage and delineators. 5. Complete conceptual engineering designs and drawings for infrastructure and technology improvements to increase safety to our city streets and eliminate fatal crashes. Any questions regarding this request should be addressed to Andrew Bowman, P.E., City Engineer, at abowman@osagebeach.org or 573-302-2000 extension 1062.
