The Rock Island County Sheriff's Office has chosen to issue this Request for Proposals to seek a contractor to waterproof the outside of the Rock Island County Jail located at 1317 3rd Ave., Rock Island, IL 61201. Scope of Work A. In General. The contractor shall waterproof the outside of the jail. The contractor shall furnish and assume full responsibility for everything required for the orderly progress and proper execution and completion of the work, whether temporary or permanent and whether or not otherwise incorporated into the work including, but not limited to, drawings, materials, equipment, labor including subcontractors, transportation, construction equipment and machinery, tools, and other facilities and incidentals. B. Clean outside surfaces. Clean corrugated brick surfaces and flat CMU surfaces on the building exterior with a chemical detergent approved by the contractor. C. Waterproofing. The contractor will waterproof the building exterior at all water entry points. 1) Repair/reseal roof membrane where needed including but limited to flashing, coping, membrane, etc. 2) Reseal silicone on the concrete roofing cap 3) Clean and reseal window lentils; many gaps are 1" or greater 4) Repair/reseal building expansion and control joints 5) And any and all other work necessary to properly waterproof the building. D. Sealant. The contractor will apply clear masonry sealant to the building exterior after the repair work. . 4. E. Demo and Disposal. The Contractor will demo and dispose of any and all material correlated with the project. F. Safety/Signage: The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining public convenience and safety, both inside and outside of the related areas of the premises, during the performance of work. When necessary, the contractor shall provide portable barriers, clearly marked to warn pedestrians and placed to ensure safe passage around the work areas. G. Clean Up. Clean up and removal of all debris from site when completed. H. Project Completion. The Contractor will establish a project completion time and ensure adequate personal to accomplish the project within that time.
