Remodeling of a medical facility in Davis, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a medical facility.
The University has determined that bidders who submit proposals on this project must be prequalified. University will accept prequalification questionnaires from general contractors having completed at least one remodel project that meets all the criteria listed in the Prequalification Questionnaire which in part includes: 1. Project work took place in the following medical facility environment: a. Tenant improvement, remodel or new construction in a licensed OSHPD/HCAI Type 1 multi-story facility operating 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, providing patient care in a Pharmacy. 2. Project took place in a location immediately adjacent to a fully occupied area that remained in operation during construction requiring ICRA 1.0 Class IV or ICRA 2.0 Class V protocols. 3. Project was completed within the last seven (7) years and accepted as complete prior to March 2025. 4. Project scope of work, separate from ICRA compliance, required verification of room differential pressure relationships for final sign off, i.e. negative or positive isolation. 5. Project required extensive coordination with on-site maintenance department, including shutdowns, requests for service and MOP review and clinical staff interaction. 6. Project had a full-time Superintendent present in all above-described settings during ALL construction activities - days, evenings, swing and weekends. 7. Construction contract cost was at least $6,000,000 as awarded (excluding change orders). Renovation of Pharmacy department at basement level with new support spaces. Work will be carried out in multiple phases to maintain uninterrupted pharmacy operation at all times. Project will also utilize existing storage room #0761 to facilitate temporary equipment relocation while project is in construction. There is scope on the roof for exhaust fans for a hood in the pharmacy. Scope will also include remodel of multi-user toilet rooms #0786 and #0784 to address accessibility deficiencies and make compliant to current code. Scope includes demolition of existing spaces within the basement pharmacy (except for Central Pharmacy #0762) and pharmacy remodel that includes receiving area, non-sterile compounding room, hazardous drug storage room, staff lounge, and offices. There are no sterile compounding rooms (under USP 797/800) in the scope of this project. Estimated Construction Start: June 2025; Estimated Completion: December 2027. Design-Bid-Build. The University intends to utilize the Best Value selection method for this project. The best value to the University is the selection resulting in the best combination of price and qualifications based on the criteria set forth in the bidding documents. Prequalification documents will not be accepted after the due date and time. No supplemental data or additional project information will be accepted after due date and time unless specifically requested by the University. Bidders must agree to comply with all proposal conditions including state prevailing wages, 10% bid bond, 100% payment and performance bonds, and insurance requirements. Level 2 interviews will be conducted after review of the Level 1 Prequalification Documents for those prospective bidders that pass Level 1. Bidders receiving 750 or more out of a total of 1000 points available for the interview (Level 2) will be prequalified for this Project and will be allowed to submit a bid and participate in the Best Value Selection process for the project. Instructions and interview requirements will be sent to bidders who prequalify on Level . In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Subject to conditions prescribed by UC Davis Health, Facilities Planning & Development Division, responses to the University's Prequalification documents are sought from prospective California current and active "B" licensed General Contractors (GCs) for the following project) & Remove Start date actual. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local working condition requirements. University reserves the right to reject any or all responses to this notice, to waive non-material irregularities, and to deem bidders prequalified to submit proposals for the project. All information submitted for prequalification evaluation will be considered official information acquired in confidence, and the University will maintain its confidentiality to the extent permitted by law.
