Architect and Engineering (Non-Building), Construction (Non Building), Road Construction. This will be done in a design-build format, includes 5 separate projects. Project-1 Culvert #4 Mountain Brook-Ridge Rd. Project-2 Box Culvert #6 Barnes Brook-Town Hall Rd. Project-3 Box Culvert #15 Sheldon Brook-N. Kirby Rd. Project-4 Brook Rd. Project-5 Ridge Rd. The scope of work for all the projects includes design, permitting and construction and as described by the attachments. All culverts must include wing walls at the inlet and outlet. Project-1 Culvert #4 Mountain Brook-Ridge Rd.: This culvert location is over Mountain Brook. This was formerly a concrete box culvert on Ridge Rd. was completely washed away. VTrans Hydraulic Study dated 11/26/2024 offers three possible solutions. This work consists of the installation of a culvert and related road repairs and guardrails. All culverts must include wing walls at the inlet and outlet. A. Option-A: A metal box with an inside opening span of 14'-4" and minimum height of 8'-4". The box invert should be buried 2 feet. This will result in a clear height of 6'-4" above streambed, providing 71 square feet of waterway area. Bed retention sills should be added and filled as described for the concrete box above. This structure results in a headwater depth of 3.8 feet at 2% AEP and 4.5 feet at 1% AEP. B. Option-B: A corrugated metal plate pipe arch with a clear span of 169.4 inches and height of 105.2 inches. The invert should be buried 2 feet. This will result in a clear height of 6.8 feet above streambed, providing 75 square feet of waterway area. Bed retention sills need to be added and filled as described for the concrete box above. This structure results in a headwater depth of 3.9 feet at 2% AEP and 4.6 feet at 1% AEP. C. Option-C: Aluminum culvert can be considered with wing walls at inlet and outlet Project-2 Box Culvert #6 Barnes Brook-Town Hall Rd.: This location is over Barns Brook which was destroyed. VTrans Hydraulic Study dated 11/26/2024 offers four possible solutions. In addition to the options below, guardrails will be required per each side of the culvert and road. A. Option-A: A metal box with an inside opening span of 18'-9" and minimum height of 8'-9". The box invert should be buried 2 feet. This will result in a clear height of 6'-9" above streambed, providing 110 square feet of waterway area. Bed retention sills need to be added and filled as described for the concrete box above. This structure results in a headwater depth of 4.1 feet at 4% AEP and 4.6 feet at 1% AEP. B. Option-B: An open bottom arch with a minimum clear span of 18 feet and clear height of 7.7 feet, providing a waterway area of 104 square feet. The bottom of abutment footings should be pinned to bedrock to prevent undermining. This structure results in a headwater depth of 3.8 feet at 4% AEP and 5.3 feet at 1% AEP. C. Option-C: Aluminum culvert can be considered with wing walls at inlet and outlet. Project-3 Box Culvert #15 Sheldon Brook-N. Kirby Rd.: This location is over Sheldon Brook which was destroyed. VTrans Hydraulic Study dated 8/26/2024 offers three possible solutions. In addition to the options below, guardrails will be required per each side of the culvert and road. A. A metal box with an inside opening span of 12'-8" and minimum height of 8'-0". The box invert should be buried 2 feet. This will result in a clear height of 6'-0" feet above streambed, providing 56
